Lightwave Cat6 FTP Ethernet Cable for Shielded Networks
The Lightwave Cat6 FTP Ethernet cable (LW-CAT6-FTP) protects your data from outside interference. A foil shield wraps around the four twisted copper pairs, so your network stays stable near cables, equipment and other sources of electrical noise.
Why Choose a Shielded Cat6 FTP Cable?
Unshielded cable can pick up interference in busy installations. However, the overall foil shield in FTP cable blocks much of that outside noise. Therefore, you get fewer dropped packets and more consistent speeds. In addition, this Category 6 cable supports Gigabit Ethernet over runs of up to 100 metres. It also works with standard RJ45 connectors and patch panels, so installation stays simple.
Key Features
Lightwave builds this cable with Category 6 performance and foil shielding. First, the overall foil screen reduces interference from outside. Second, the twisted pair design limits crosstalk between pairs. Moreover, FTP cable stays lighter and more flexible than fully braided designs, which makes it easier to pull and terminate.
Where to Use This Cat6 FTP Ethernet Cable
This cable suits structured cabling in offices, schools, shops and server rooms. It also works well for IP cameras, VoIP phones, Wi-Fi access points and other PoE devices. Likewise, CCTV runs benefit, because long camera cables pick up noise easily. For best results, use shielded keystone jacks or shielded RJ45 plugs. Furthermore, ground the shield properly, because a poor ground reduces the benefit of shielding.
